How ZUNBIX handles children's information. Last reviewed 27 October 2026.
This notice describes ZUNBIX as it is built today. Before Zunbix is opened to the public, the owner of Zunbix should have it reviewed against COPPA (and the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, if the site is offered in the UK), and have a verifiable-parental-consent step in place if any of the data practices below are widened.
A Zunbix profile is made by a grown-up and holds only:
That is the whole record. Zunbix asks for no email address, surname, birthday, school, address, phone number, photograph or voice recording, and children do not have accounts of their own to sign in to.
In the browser on that device, and nowhere else. A profile and its progress are held in the browser (under the keys bq.v1 and bq.settings.v1) and are not sent to Zunbix or anyone else. Zunbix has no accounts and no database of children's records. Anyone using that browser can open the profiles on it, and clearing the browser's site data deletes them.
The site's hosting may add a basic visit counter and error reporting to every page. That is page-level and is not tied to a child profile.
Read-aloud uses the voice already built into the browser or device. The text of a question or story is handed to that voice locally; Zunbix makes no recording, never asks for the microphone, and no audio leaves the device. Sound effects and the background tune are generated in the browser, not downloaded.
Every spoken thing is also full text on screen, so the area works with the sound off.
A grown-up can see everything Zunbix holds about a child on the grown-ups page, change the nickname, buddy and grade there, and delete a profile outright from the player menu. Deleting a profile removes it and its progress from this browser.
Because the records never leave the browser, Zunbix cannot see or remove them for you; the grown-ups page and the browser's own settings are the way. For any question about this notice, email contact@zunbix.com.
