Fifth grade covers multi-digit multiplication and division, decimals to the thousandths, adding fractions with unlike denominators, multiplying and dividing fractions, volume, points on a grid and brackets first. Readers compare themes, find evidence, summarize, work out who is telling a story, and handle tricky verb tenses and commas that set things off.

ZUNBIX has 60 5th grade skills across math, reading, science, social studies, coding and art, and twelve games that all pitch themselves at 5th grade, then move up or back with your child.

5th Grade games

Every game is free to play at 5th grade. Here is what each one practises for a 5th grader.

Questions parents ask

Is ZUNBIX really free for 5th grade?

Yes. All twelve games, every lesson and the parent dashboard are free. There is no subscription and nothing to buy: the coins children earn are pretend and only unlock outfits, pets and trophies inside ZUNBIX.

Does my 5th grader need an account or an email address?

No sign-up is needed to play. Your child makes a player with a first name or nickname and a grade, and it is saved in this browser. If you want progress kept across devices, a grown-up can sign in on the parents page. Children never sign in and never give an email address.

Are there ads or chat?

No. ZUNBIX shows no adverts, has no chat or messages and no public leaderboards, and shows nothing about your child to other players. The children's privacy page sets out exactly what is stored.

What 5th grade math does ZUNBIX cover?

14 math skills for 5th grade: Measurement & Data, Geometry, Multiplication & Division, Word Problems, Decimals, Fractions, Expressions & Patterns. Each one is matched to the Common Core standards for the grade, with hints before answers and a worked explanation after a miss.

What 5th grade reading does ZUNBIX cover?

20 reading and language skills for 5th grade: Sentence Building, Reading Comprehension, Spelling & Vocabulary, Grammar, Punctuation, Writing. They are matched to the Common Core English Language Arts standards for the grade.

What if my child is ahead of or behind 5th grade?

The grade is only where ZUNBIX starts. A short starting check in math and reading finds the right level, every round moves up or back with your child's answers, and a gap points back to the earlier skill it needs. You can change the grade at any time.

Does it read the questions aloud?

Yes. Read-aloud is on from the start, and every question has a Listen button, so a child who reads slowly can still play every game. It can be turned off in the sound settings.

How long should a 5th grader play?

A practice round is 10 questions, a few minutes. Grown-ups can set a daily goal on the parents page, and the dashboard shows what was practised, what has stuck and what is worth another round.

Does it work on a tablet or Chromebook?

Yes. ZUNBIX runs in the web browser on computers, Chromebooks, tablets and phones, so there is nothing to download or install.

More on what is stored and why on the children’s privacy page, and progress for each child on the parents page.
