Kindergarten is where numbers and letters start to mean something. Children count pictures and say what comes next, compare groups (more, fewer, the same), put groups together and take some away, and name flat and solid shapes. In reading they match big and little letters to their sounds, hear rhymes and first sounds, blend sounds into words and learn their first sight words.

ZUNBIX has 43 kindergarten skills across math, reading, science, social studies, coding and art, and twelve games that all pitch themselves at kindergarten, then move up or back with your child.

Kindergarten games

Every game is free to play at kindergarten. Here is what each one practises for a kindergartener.

Questions parents ask

Is ZUNBIX really free for kindergarten?

Yes. All twelve games, every lesson and the parent dashboard are free. There is no subscription and nothing to buy: the coins children earn are pretend and only unlock outfits, pets and trophies inside ZUNBIX.

Does my kindergartener need an account or an email address?

No sign-up is needed to play. Your child makes a player with a first name or nickname and a grade, and it is saved in this browser. If you want progress kept across devices, a grown-up can sign in on the parents page. Children never sign in and never give an email address.

Are there ads or chat?

No. ZUNBIX shows no adverts, has no chat or messages and no public leaderboards, and shows nothing about your child to other players. The children's privacy page sets out exactly what is stored.

What kindergarten math does ZUNBIX cover?

14 math skills for kindergarten: Counting & Numbers, Adding & Taking Away, Shapes, Patterns & Measuring, Fair Shares. Each one is matched to the Common Core standards for the grade, with hints before answers and a worked explanation after a miss.

What kindergarten reading does ZUNBIX cover?

11 reading and language skills for kindergarten: Letters & Sounds, Hearing Sounds, Reading Words, How Books Work, Listening to Stories, Grammar, Punctuation. They are matched to the Common Core English Language Arts standards for the grade.

What if my child is ahead of or behind kindergarten?

The grade is only where ZUNBIX starts. A short starting check in math and reading finds the right level, every round moves up or back with your child's answers, and a gap points back to the earlier skill it needs. You can change the grade at any time.

Can my child play before they can read?

Yes. For kindergarten every question is read aloud, answers come with pictures (2 big choices at a time), and nothing is timed.

How long should a kindergartener play?

A practice round is 5 questions, a few minutes. Grown-ups can set a daily goal on the parents page, and the dashboard shows what was practised, what has stuck and what is worth another round.

Does it work on a tablet or Chromebook?

Yes. ZUNBIX runs in the web browser on computers, Chromebooks, tablets and phones, so there is nothing to download or install.

More on what is stored and why on the children’s privacy page, and progress for each child on the parents page.
